don't lose your keys

It sounds like such an obvious piece of advice: never lose your keys! But how many things do we lose on a daily basis? We know keys are so important, but if you are one of those people that constantly misplace them, or you find yourself in a blind panic because you don't know where you set them down, let us show you some simple pieces of advice to get you started.

Have Your Keys on a Keychain

A keychain is such a simple option but will make a big difference if you carry a lot of keys around. You need to have all of your keys on one keychain, especially if you are in and out of the house or in the car a lot. And while you may be prone to losing your keys, it's important to have a number of keychains. Because if you lose your car keys, a reliable auto locksmith can help you out, but if the house keys have disappeared, how are you going to get in? However, if you have keys to a number of properties and cars, you should never store them on one chain. So even if you lose one, you will be able to save the others.

Store Your Keys in a Separate Place on Your Person

Some people keep them in their pockets where they can easily access them, but you need to find a compartment, either in a jacket or your pocket that is zip protected. When in doubt, have a key chain bag that can be attached to your trousers.

Have a Spare Key Accessible Somewhere Else

A lot of people don't like the idea of spare keys, but it's a good idea to keep a spare set somewhere else rather than your home. If you ever lock yourself out, you can get a spare key easily. You may also want to keep a spare key camouflaged in your backyard. You should hide it well, and if you are looking for an extra layer of protection, you could benefit from a security box that is able to handle all of the weather elements. Having a pin-protected security box means you can always access that key.

Trust a Friend or Relative With the Keys

If you are someone that loses keys every once in a while, this is a very simple solution. Of course, you have to make sure that the relative or friend doesn't live far away but this will give you a lot more peace of mind if you end up losing your keys.

Have a Bluetooth Tracker

There are plenty of technical options for you to make the most of this, like Bluetooth trackers and key finder apps. There are many different key finder apps out there that specialize in trackers that can be used for more than just keys.

Finally, one of the best pieces of advice out there: get into the habit of double-checking yourself. Some people don't like to double-check, especially if you’re in a rush, but when it comes to your keys, if you don't want to be locked out it's such a simple thing that will make a big difference!
