Let's celebrate National Gin and Tonic Day with a classic gin cocktail - good any time

While gin probably isn't the first spirit that you think of when it comes to manly cocktails, this is possibly one of the manliest spirits from a historical perspective. The classic gin and tonic was the choice of British sailors, explorers, and adventurers for generations and that should be good enough to inspire any of you to give it a shot ... or at least mix it up into a tasty cocktail!

Special thanks to Diageo who sent us these recipes along with a few bottles of Tanqueray to practice these gin and tonic recipes as well as create some of our own. Perhaps more important than just our thirst for new and innovative cocktail recipes though is helping support our favorite bartenders and mixologists all around the country ... and indeed around the world too. That's why we launched our #VirtualHappyHour live streams every Tuesday and Thursday at 1:30 pm. It is also why the brand launched Tips from Home. This is their effort across the entire portfolio to encourage us all to support our favorite bartenders. For those of you who might not know, Diageo is one of the largest and most diverse companies in the alcohol business. While you might not have heard of their name, you'ver certainly enjoyed some of their brands, including Crown Royal, Jonnie Walker, Captain Morgan, Baileys, Smirnoff, Bulleit Bourbon, Don Julio, Guinness, and yes ... Tanqueray as well as Gordon's.

The brand has provided an initial $500,000 pledge to kick off the movement and is prepared to donate another $500,000  through the duration of the program. This is on top of the more than $2 million that Diageo North America and it's brands have already donated to North American organizations helping the hospitality industry, including the USBG Foundation COVID-19 Relief Campaign. To join in, tweet During #TipsFromHome experiences and Diageo will donate $1 up to $1 million, to the USBG every time someone shares a cocktail image using #TipsFromHome and #DiageoDonation.

More details and specifics available on their campaign web page.
