Apart from the kitchen, it is the room that has the most traffic and therefore needs the most upkeep. We have all been in that situation of having to wait to use the bathroom. Most people want their bathrooms to be stylish with that welcoming air that makes them a pleasure to use. Fortunately, there are many ways you can upgrade your bathroom yourself, and not all of them cost a fortune. So, let’s take a look at a few today:

Create The Illusion of Space

If your bathroom is on the small side, one of the best things you can do is install a large mirror. A mirror can increase the perception of space in any room, and they also make a dark room seem brighter too. These days you are not limited in terms of the types of mirrors you can get. There are so many styles out there. Also, you can get ones that double up with a bit of gadgetry. You can get demister mirrors, ones with lights and clocks, and you can even connect your phone to the mirror via Bluetooth so that it can play music for you while you are taking that bath or shower.

Upgrade Your Lights

Don’t underestimate the power of new lighting. As new lights can really enhance the look, feel and atmosphere. Again to have a lot of options available to you. You can install mirror lighting, or layered bathroom lighting, you can use wall lights, you can even add some color with your lighting in terms of getting a jazzy bathroom lampshade design. You can even go for the more industrial hanging bulb lighting.

Get New Faucets

If you are unable to get a whole new bathroom at this point in time, you can always upgrade the faucets. This can make it appear as if you have a brand new bathroom set without the added expense and trouble of installing it all. The faucets are a great way to create a theme for your bathroom, which you can match with the lighting, ornaments, etc. Copper faucets can give you that rustic feel, whereas a waterfall faucet can help you create a modern feel.

Paint

If you want to change the feel of a room, then paint is the answer. It is a relatively inexpensive way to cover up a multitude of sins and create a banned new look in the process. Depending on your theme, why not experiment with color. You could go for a warm chestnut color or kick in with some spicy tones. Don’t just limit yourself to one color either, have a couple of colors. You could paint the top half of the room one color the bottom half another. Alternatively, you could paint the walls two entirely different colors. To add a little more life, you could try adding a few Bathroom Wall Decals, which can create that totally unique look.

Wallpaper

There is no reason why you couldn’t try wallpaper in the bathroom as long as it is not within splashing distance of the bath. Why not try some beautiful bold prints.

The Floor

Flooring doesn’t always have to cost you the Earth. There are plenty of ways you can upgrade it. You can try some peel and stick tiles which can really add that unique and cultured look you are after. If you are a little on the creative side, why not try a few tiles of different shades and even design if you are bold enough to do that. People’s eyes naturally gaze down to the floor so it is a great idea to spruce up the floor. Although they are moisture-resistant, don’t attempt using them in the show itself as they will not stay attached.

Add Some Plants

If you want a quick way to add some life into an otherwise dull bathroom, then buy some plants. Plants add color and can also improve the air quality, as well as lift your spirits. Some plants literally thrive in the bathroom environment, like spider plants. There are so many benefits to adding plants into your living space, and it is a real no-brainer if your bathroom needs a little TLC.

Backsplash

You can also use peel and stick tiles to stick behind the sink to protect your wall from all that moisture. Many tiles like this are heat and water-resistant, so it is worth taking a look and seeing what you can get. It literally could not be easier to install. Clean and dry the wall thoroughly, then attach them to the wall as you see fit. To get them off the wall, all you need is a hair drier and no water in the bath or sink.

Shower Curtain

A new shower curtain can help you create your overall look, as well as hide anything. Alternatively, you could look to install a new glass shower door. This can make your bathroom appear chicer if that is the look you are going for. If you like gadgets, you can also get shower doors with gadgets, such a Bluetooth for music.

The Shower

Like everything else, if you want to upgrade the shower, showerheads come in a wide range of styles. You can also get showers which are state-of-the-art, all with many gadgets. If you like gadgets, then why not invest in a new shower with all these things as standard. You can get colored lighting, demisting shower doors, speakers which attach to your phone via Bluetooth so you can play music. If this interests you, why not do some investigation and work out what satire appeals to you the most. A great shower can enhance the look of any bathroom.
